Saturday, May 6, 2017. MIP UMY held a seminar “Development of Tourism-Based Area in Gunung Kidul Regency”, in this seminar that acts as a speaker is Vice Regent GundungKidul DIY Dr. Drs. Immawan Wahyudi, MH. He explained about the innovation of the local government in managing the branding of Gunungkidul Regency. In managing the branding of Gunungkidul Regency, the local government of Gunungkidul Regency strengthens social capital as the foundation of regional development policy.

Furthermore, the local government of Gunungkidul developed a community-based tourism destination (CBT) through the concept of community empowerment. In addition, in the development of tourism-based areas in Gunungkidul Regency, it is necessary to support village development in line with regional policy and the development of integrated information system based on data in the village. Therefore, MIP UMY strengthens cooperation with local government of Gunungkidul Regency as development in academic and research field. The seminar was ended with a photo session of Vice Regent of Gunungkidul Regency with the Head of MIP Dr. Dyah Mutiarin, M.Si and secretary of MIP Dr. Zuly Qodir together with MIP students
