Thursday, May 18, 2017. MIP UMY held public lecture with the theme “Culture and Power in Indonesia”. In today’s public lecture, the guest speaker is Tod Jones, Ph.D from Curtain University, Australia. He explained how the development of the existing culture in Indonesia from several decades. Besides, he also added in his explanation that how the cultures give some impacts to the political, economic, and other sectors. This public lecture was attended by Master Program of Government Affairs and Administration students, Undergraduate of Governmental students, and also from other universities. This public lecture is very interesting with some discussions between the speaker and the students related to how social problems exist in the community as an example Towani Tolotang in South Sulawesi.
