Saturday, August 11, 2018. Master of Government Affairs and Administration UMY in collaboration with IGOV UMY held an International Seminar with the theme “Democracy Updates in Southeast Asia”. This event was held in the Meeting Room of UMY Postgraduate Building at 08.00-12.00 pm. The speaker at this international seminar was Assoc. Prof. Somnuek Panyasingha (KKU) who explained the development of democracy in Thailand and Bambang Cahya Eka Widodo, S.IP., M.Sc. (UMY) which explained about democracy in Indonesia and its challenges in facing the 2019 political year. This Seminar event is a series of activities what will be done by the Khon Khaen University during academic visit for 9 days, starting from 9-18 August 2018. Present at this event Dr. Titin Purwaningsih, S.IP., M.Sc. (Dean of Faculty of Social and Politic UMY), Dr. phil. Ridho Al-Hamdi (Secretary of the IGOV UMY), Khon Kaen University graduate student, MIP graduate and Prince Songkla University exchange student. Coordinator of the Visit Khon Kaen University Academic Committee Dr. phil. Ridho Al-Hamdi revealed that a series of international seminars aimed to find out the extent of the development of democracy in ASEAN, especially Indonesia and Thailand.
